Work or Play?

As I mentioned in previous posts, part of why my trip was so exciting for me was because I was actually working part of my internship while I was having fun traveling and exploring the world. While I was in Europe, I was responsible for generating social media content for Global Threads. I have never done anything like that before. I wouldn’t even call myself a social media guru… I’m just obsessed with it and use it all of the time. I do not know that magic formula for generating likes or getting people to follow your mission through social media. So this was such an incredible learning experience for me.

When I went to Europe, I was sent with a bunch of t-shirts for myself and friends. Our goal was to take a bunch of pictures with these shirts in iconic places all over the world, and to also show the experience through snapchat! When I was first given this task, I for sure thought it would be the easiest job in the world. Little did I know it would actually be pretty difficult.

Part of why this was so hard for me was because I had such a hard time balancing my own social media and the snapchats for Global Threads. I really just found myself wanting to update my own social media. Having to work for another company in the social media realm was very difficult for me in that sense. I was constantly logging in and out of multiple accounts and it just took so much time. I also found it hard to always wear the tank top I was given. I was in Europe! I wanted to look cute everyday. So I didn’t want to wear a t-shirt, and that is something that I did not take into consideration before I left for the trip.

These little things definitely added up making this aspect of my trip a little difficult. But, it was really fun to come back and brainstorm with Kyle, the CEO of Global Threads to figure out a solution to these issues, especially with the t-shirt issue. We brainstormed creating merchandise like flags, banners, or pins to send with students abroad. That is why I love the start up company atmosphere. It is a constant brainstorming sessions of what we can do differently or better to spread out mission and to get out name out there. Being in a startup, you are always looking for a different way of doing things. If you want to hear more on that listen to the latest Global Threads podcast where I talk about what it is like working in a start up company. CLICK HERE !!

That was just a quick little blurb of my trip. I’m going to take a short break from my Part III of this blog to talk about my favorite things I saw while in Greece and Germany.

Stay tuned for more!

Part 1: My Greece and Germany Trip

As many of you remember, I started this blog when I studied abroad and lived in Argentina for a month my junior year of high school. Since then, I haven’t really gone out of the country for an extended period of time. I went to Costa Rica for a quick trip before college started. But I was excited to get to Europe and get out of the United States for a few weeks. I was really ready for something different in my life.

I actually went on this trip to receive a three hours credit towards my International Business minor. The class that I was taking was called Global Business Perspectives. I wanted to throw in some of the course description and objectives so you can kind of get a better idea of what this class was about.

  • Understand Global Mindset framework, unique characteristics of the global trade environment, globalization of the economy, the role of culture in global cultural experiences, and financial regulatory implications for global business

  • Determine how culture impacts the negotiation process in a global business setting

  • Understand and evaluate management strategies involved in global business transactions

  • Engage in a cross-cultural experience

To engage in this cross-cultural experience, we actually went to Greece and Germany. If you know anything about the European Union or those two countries… there is not a pair of countries that contrasts more than those two. Before heading over to Europe, I really did not know anything about the Greece economic crisis or what was going on in Europe. I honestly thought of Europe as one giant place that was all the same, like a giant state… kind of like Texas.

But I was wrong! We first started in Greece where we got to talk to the locals about the challenges they are facing with their country. For anyone who does not know, I’ll give you an ultra-brief high light of what is happening in Greece.

  • A while ago, the country of Greece was admitted in to the European Union
  • Essentially, there were some sketchy things going on with their book keeping that made the Europe Union believe they had an economy sufficient enough to enter
  • Greece went into a major amount of debt due to bad habits of government spending (you could seriously take some time learning all of that)
  • This left the people in Greece without any money and essentially hopeless
  • To relief their debt Greece has reached out other countries within the European Union and abroad to help relieve their debt

The last point is pretty much where the country is at today and honestly all that you’ve been hearing on the news about Greece for the past year. The technical side of what happened is still pretty above me and some of that information is not close to 100% accurate or the whole side. But it’s the briefest overview that there is.

Once we learned that, I definitely had my idea of what I though Greece would be like. I was expecting a run down place with extremely lazy people. Although it is extremely run down, that was the only part of Greece that held up to my belief. The people of Greece are extremely hard working. We actually visited a couple of businesses that helped us further understand what it was like operating a business in that country. Greece is really just lacking resources… business owners just can’t get people to buy their products and they don’t have the money or the means to take their businesses abroad. We actually found out that it costs you almost double as a company to have an employee on your pay role due to paperwork and taxes. The people of Greece are really just hopeless at this point and just hope that they can rely on other countries to bail them out. While in Greece, we actually got to talk to an Ambassador that was living in Greece. He pretty much explained that the country of Greece was going to crumble this upcoming July. None of us knew that was happening, no one was frantic or even talking about how to help themselves or change it. He essentially put it to us that the people of Greece are so sad and frustrated… they just don’t want to talk about it.

Since there is no money, and literally NO jobs this is causing a major domino effect for the future of Greece. Young adults that are finishing college are all leaving Greece, causing a brain drain in the country. There are just no jobs, so everyone is going elsewhere. This really effects Greece because now they are missing a generation of people to populate the country and settle there. Missing this generation can have some pretty long term effects on the country.

In a complete contrast was visting the country of Germany. I fell IN LOVE with this country. If there was one place in Europe I would want to live, it would for sure be Germany. There is such a rich history and culture here. It was really fun for me to learn about World War II my whole life and finally put places and stories in my brain at a first hand view.

People keeping up with the economic crisis of Greece are aware that Germany is the country they are relying on to bail them out. Germany has put their foot down and refuses to help Greece. They believe by supplying them with this money they are solving their problems without Greece having to learn from the mistakes that they have made. Germany is seriously dominating the European union. The second we stepped foot in this country it is very apparent it is different. Both countries have rich history and historical buildings…Germany takes care of the buildings. The people around Germany really carry themselves in a more serious manner. Everyone is in a suit, all the time. Even our Uber drivers all wore suits. It is a very structured country.

Unfortunately, we never got to visit a business in Germany, as BMW actually canceled on our tour. But the motivation and the history on how they have bounced back from a major pit fall has really driven and motivated the people of Germany to make their country a place to be proud to be living in.

So that was my trip in a nutshell and a lot more of the educational side than you were probably bargaining for. I’m going to include pictures of all of the places we actually went to, and then my photo galleries will be up soon!!

UPDATE UPDATE UPDATE !!

Wow, so here I am again!! Two years later and my life has done a complete 360 since I joined Theta and started my first week of college. To start, I will definitely be coming out with some more updates on what’s been going on the past two years and what my life has been like since I’ve been at TCU. But for right now, I am excited to be getting back into my blog to talk about one of my new internships and how I was able to incorporate that internship into a study abroad trip I just went on with the TCU Neeley School of Business.

At the start of this summer, I actually received at scholarship from the Entrepreneurship Center at TCU to work an internship with a startup company called, Global Threads.

Unknown.png

When I found out that I was working for Global Threads I was excited to finally be working a “real” internship. I knew nothing about this company, but I started reading the website and after reading the following statement, I almost found it comical at how perfect this was for me:

Global Threads is an innovative venture which works to provide a channel of expression to travelers. It encourages students to take up study programs abroad so as to help people venture to places which can create inspirational and up-lifting experiences. Besides, anyone who has had an incredible travel experience is              also welcomed to share their stories with the world. Travel experiences have accounted to be self-immersive and the best in people is brought out when they are given a channel to communicate these experiences.

I knew immediately that this was the place for me. I could not think of a better opportunity to learn about working at a startup company than at a company that specializes in international travel and study abroad!! After talking with the founder of Global Threads, we were able to work out a great system for me working. At the time I found out about this internship, it turns out I was about to leave to head to Europe for three weeks.

I’m going to backtrack a little bit for those of you who do not know me. But I wanted to really let you know how perfect this pairing between GT and I was. I am from Oklahoma, and my junior year of high school I did something pretty much unheard of back home … I did a foreign exchange student program to Argentina during the summer. That was my first travel abroad experience, and I instantly fell in love with it. Since then, I have branded myself as “international.” I want to learn more languages, travel the world, and learn how to operate a business or business deals in other countries. I am a people person, and being able to communicate with people of completely different background and cultures is what I knew would set me apart coming out of college.

Since my trip to Argentina, I actually traveled to Costa Rica with TCU during my freshman year of college. I then decided to add an International Business minor on to my already existing Supply & Value Chain Management major. In order to get that minor, I had the opportunity to travel to Greece and Germany to learn about the contrast in the economies and the way business operates between two polar opposite countries.

Going to Greece and Germany while being a part of Global Threads has been extremely exciting for me so far. I am really excited about this three-part mini-series coming out throughout this next week to talk about:

  • My trip to Greece and Germany
  • What it was like working for a company while abroad
  • The best parts and the challenges of my trip

The one thing that I have always struggled with in my blog was creating content that was continually interesting, or having a branded topic I wanted to talk about. This blog has been a major part of my life. It’s where I have really learned the most about myself. Every time I show someone my blog, or attempt to add it into my resume, I am told that it’s really not serving a purpose for how I am trying to brand myself. This opportunity with Global Threads has opened that door again for me and allowed me to figure out how to grow as a person and how to make myself more marketable. I am pumped to be getting back into something that I was so passionate about to begin with.

So, thank you to Global Threads and Kyle for this incredible opportunity and stay tuned to hear more about this trip!

Fearfully and Wonderfully Made

Continuously, over the past 3 year I have gotten nothing but positive feedback from when I post. While most of it is from my parent’s friends with kids the same age or younger than me that seem to enjoy these posts. It is something that I have loved doing but still have yet to make a habit of. I have posted on and off throughout the years, but never enough to gain a following or to the point that I am happy with. Typically, when things are going really well in my life and I have the time to sit down and write, I do it. But, it is definitely safe to say, I felt at times as if I had no time this past year to write. So, in an attempt to start this up again. Here is an update on me this past year.

My New Tagline- If anyone remembers before, my tagline was “Just About Anything You Can Imagine.” I initially really like it. But I started to realize that it didn’t mean a whole lot to me. It was just something that I thought of and sounded good enough to me. My new tagline is my life motto/saying that has within the past two months meant the world to me – “Fearfully and Wonderfully Made.” This is something that I believe with me full heart. I truly believe that every single person has been Fearfully and Wonderfully Made by God and discovering that and coming to fully believe it has altered how I feel about myself and my outlook on life over this summer.

My New Look- Now, nothing has changed about my physical appearance. But it has for this blog. I think that I have changed and matured so much from my last post, which was right after recruitment ended last year- so almost exactly a year ago. That is why I have completely changed the look of my blog. It’s something that I have been working on for the past week, and am continuing to make some small touches on for the next couple of days. I’m not exactly tech savvy… One year can change a lot about a person, so I wanted that to change this blog too.

About Me- For all of the people reading this that are getting ready to go into their Freshman year of college… College is so hard but is the best thing that has ever happened to me. I think that college is why I have had such a difficult time sitting down and starting to blog again. It totally is a shock to your emotions and thoughts for the first time in your life that you’re not living at home. It was very difficult for me to adjust first semester.

I got to college and was writing for the Odyssey. For anyone that kept up with me, you got to read some of my stuff through the Odyssey and I absolutely loved it. But, my heart just wasn’t in it. It was just a fad. I was required to put out new content every single week with a three strike policy. I am just not that kind of person. I like to post when something is put on my heart to write about. My most successful article on the Odyssey got over 5,000 shares. Which, for me, was so incredible and something that was such an accomplishment. But that certain article took me five minutes to write and absolutely no effort because I just typed something up and send it off just to make the cut off time to scrape by another week. And that is absolutely not how I tackle life. I can’t just put in 2% of the effort and hope that amazing praise and effort comes out of it. So, there went the Odyssey.

I got really involved at TCU this year with different organizations and it was a bunch of trial and error to find out where I belonged and what I was most passionate about. I joined a sorority, which has still been one of the best decisions in my life. I tried a bunch of different clubs, got really plugged in on campus, and joined many different religious groups. Many of those things didn’t work out. Turns out, TCU is a campus full of people that want to get involved…very involved and there were many organizations that I just didn’t end up making the cut for. That one was very hard and truthfully a gut punch. Something that I wasn’t used to was not getting into an organization, especially when it was based on academics and social skills. But, that is something that I tackled on my own and got plugged into one super awesome program on campus that I am extremely happy with.

The religious groups. That one was hard for me. Something that has always come easy to me was my faith. It came easy because I was raised to believe with my whole heart. From the day I was born I started going to church. For the past 11 summers, Camp Ozark- a Christian camp in Mt. Ida, AR has been apart of my life. There wasn’t a single time in my life since I remember where I haven’t believed. I thought that would be the easiest part for me, but it was actually very hard. The misconception with TCU is that it is very Christian focused. Surprisingly, that is not true. You’re required one 3-hour religion credit, and it doesn’t have to be Christianity. However, it did mean that there was an awesome Christian community present, which was a life saver for me. I plugged into KLIFE, but that didn’t work for me. I tried to get plugged into Young Life, but I jumped on that too late and just couldn’t get trained or placed in time. I became very lost in that and felt like I wasn’t serving a purpose. But once again, I figured that out.

My sorority was the best thing that happened to me freshman year. I joined Kappa Alpha Theta and to this day, couldn’t be happier about it. There has truthfully never been a place in my entire life where I just felt like I fit in and belonged to like I do in my sorority. I knew from the day that I walked into that house that it was where I was supposed to end up, and that is exactly what happened. I didn’t make friends right away. In fact, first semester was very lonely for me and I could not find a group to fit in with. I thought walking into an organization/sisterhood with 200 girls was going to be a walk in the park and there would be someone to hangout with every weekend, someone available for lunch every single day… but that was NOT the case. It’s funny because after a while, everyone started realizing that everyone really felt that way at times. After a long semester break I was ready to go make friends and just put myself out there. I had a complete change of heart and was asking girls to do stuff all the time. I stopped waiting for people to ask and hangout with me and started seeking out friendships. As of today, I have about 10 of the best friends in the entire world. Those girls mean the absolute world to me. I truly believe that I have made friends in this last year that will for sure be in my wedding. I couldn’t image a life without those girls in it.

To Those Girls- …and you know exactly who you are. Thank you. Thank you for hanging out with me. That you for loving me, challenging me, crying with me, laughing with me, and most of all thank you for all of the memories. I couldn’t be more excited for the next 3 years and life time that we all have together. I have never been closer or felt more loved by a group of girls. I never thought in my life that I would be in a huge friend group. Thank you! You made college so worth it.

Overall, college was truly the BEST thing that has ever happened to me. I walked away so much stronger, smarter, mature, and with possibly the greatest friendships that I have ever had in my life. I could not be happier with how my first year at college turned out for me. It was a blast. I am obviously very biased, but I truthfully believed that I chose the best college to go to. It has never disappointed me and I fully believe that I am going to be set up to succeed because of TCU. My heart is so happy when I think of the last year that I had. Many of those lessons and stories I intend to explain and dive into later this week. But for right now, just know- this past year has been incredible.

Camp Ozark- For those of you who not only know me…but REALLY know me. You know that Camp Ozark has been probably the most important thing in my life. If you haven’t heard of it… check it out here. I started going 11 years ago, and I was a 9-year camper. There was one year where I could’ve been an LIT, which is a Leader in Training. But I didn’t have time the summer before college to go and do that. That summer, without going to camp was very weird for me. I wasn’t used to not being at camp and I hated it. Therefore, what was my solution? Be a counselor. I was home for one week after college and then turned around and went to Camp Ozark to serve as a counselor and was gone for 8 weeks. Safe to say, my parents were not thoroughly excited that their oldest, (and favorite) child decided to leave for 8 weeks with limited cell phone use. But those two months literally changed my life. So much happened in those two months and it was nothing but joyful. For the first time in my life, I found something I was truly passionate about. I was able to share Christ with kids, I grew in my relationship with Christ, became even closer to my best friend in the entire world, and for the first time in my entire life, I truly believed that I started experiencing raw and genuine joy.

To sum this long but much needed post up. This past year has been wonderful. There were many things that didn’t go my way and many situations that I was frustrated, fed up with, and sad about. But everything turned out the way it did for a reason and I grew more than I ever expected. The plan from here is to post. I don’t know when or how often. But hopefully way more than I have been doing. It’s just good to finally be at a place in my life where I feel that I can slow down, relax, and really process what’s going on in my life and live in the moment. I truthfully can’t wait to share why I believe I am Fearfully and Wonderfully Made and how that has impacted me and where it will take me in this life time.

My Recruitment Experience

TRkfc66l

My Top 10 Thoughts During Recruitment:

  1. What did I just sign up for?
  2. Alpha Beta Who?
  3. PNM!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!? (what is that)
  4. Why are the yelling at me?
  5. Get me out of this break round..
  6. Please send help!
  7. This is a freaking cult!
  8. I don’t remember anything she just said….
  9. She has no idea what she’s talking about..
  10. Mom, where are you?

______________________________________________________________________

Since I grew up in Norman, I always associated Greek Life with the “ideal college experience.” I really grew up believing that the only way to be social and have friends in college was to Go Greek!

So,  going into recruitment at TCU was a little nerve wracking. I had absolutely no idea what to expect and I felt ten steps behind the game because I only knew two girls on campus that were in a sorority. Recruitment was by far the longest week of my life, and I personally do not think that that recruitment was very fun, at all! Anyone that tells you it was the best time of their life is lying….

You wake up early every day, put on your make up, put on your favorite outfit and get ready to compete with 1,000 other girls for a spot in a house. You then spend five full days talking to strangers, sitting in a break room for hours at a time. In those break rounds, you are then forced to socialize with girls that just try to intimidate you with all of their “connections” into every sorority on campus. It was truly dreadful.

Every day I went back to my room and cried because I was just too overwhelmed with everything. Your day is consumed with talking to girls you don’t know, and you are trying your hardest to sound cool and make them think you are the greatest person alive. Plus, throughout your entire conversation you’re hoping that they love you just as much as you love them, and that isn’t always the case.

Let me stop real quick…

I ended up a Kappa Alpha Theta after recruitment. I could honestly not be happier with my final result. I get to spend every day getting to know some of the greatest and most genuine girls I have ever met. Throughout my recruitment week I never doubted how I felt when I walked into their house. I COULD NOT be happier. While I’ve been talking about how long the process was, that’s just the way the process works. You are competing 1,000 girls for a limited number of spots in a house…. it’s just the game.

Back to recruitment…

Going into recruitment you just have to continuously keep an open mind. In the end, you are going to basically get cut from every house on campus except one. There are going to be disappointments and there are going to be heartbreaks. You’re going to get cut from a house that you thought you had a great connection with and you’re going to wonder what else you could’ve done. But, why sit there and be upset over someone that could decide you weren’t right for them after a 20 minute conversation?

You’re also going to get asked back to houses and wonder how in the world that happened. NOTHING ABOUT THE SELECTION PROCESS MAKES SENSE…. and it never will.

Every time I called my mom crying. I was never really upset or disappointed in how my day week. It is just an exhausting week, your emotions get all screwed up. You really don’t know what to think after day one…

Basically!!

It’s a long week and the process is weird and hard and there’s really no way to describe it. But please go through it. You learn more about yourself than you could ever imagine. Plus, once it’s over…….college seems like a piece of cake! I made some of the greatest friendships from recruitment week. My friends went a million different directions. I’m really lucky to go to a university where there is SOOOO much more to college than Greek Life. The process is worth the end result, even it that end result is not being in a sorority!

I SURVIVED!

Wow, college…. just wow. I honestly cannot put into words how I really feel about the college experience!

I guess I’ll start off with, GO FROGS!!

Unknown

I’m actually obsessed with my university. I think it is absolutely the most wonderful place on earth and I could not image myself at another college. The people and the atmosphere are just so incredible. I actually cannot put into words how amazing this place is.

I’m obviously biased.. but if you are currently looking into college options! Please contact me and TCU and come and visit. This place has the potential to change your life. I fell in love with TCU the second I stepped foot on campus Spring Break of my Junior year and I never looked back at that point.

I mean, college is definitely a little weird. You go from spending your whole day in school, and most of the time you’re sitting there just twiddling your thumbs. But now, I’m lucky if my teachers even use the whole class period and then you’re thrown out of class and have to decide how you want to spend your day. It can be a little overwhelming trying to figure out what schedule works for you! You just got to try a bunch of things out the first couple of weeks until you get the hang of it!

One really exciting part of MY individual experience was that I went through recruitment and ended up falling in love with a house that I decided to join!

I’M A THETA!!

Now that I’m officially a college student. I will be starting my college series which I am SO pumped about! This can honestly be for anyone, but I really recommend this series for high school students that are trying to figure out what they are looking for in a college! But my first couple of posts will be about my recruitment experience and the truth behind how I felt about the week!!

I’m open to any suggestions!

But there’s just a little update about my life and what’s been going on. I honestly feel like there’s no time to do anything crazy with this blog right now. LITERALLY NO TIME! I’m just jotting down all this crazy stuff at 12:15…(sorry mom, I’ll get to bed soon!)

101 in 1001

WOOHOOOO…. Finally starting my 101 in 1001 ♥

I’ve spent the last couple weeks writing my 101 in 1001. This is a list of 101 things that you want to complete in 1001 days which is just a little bit over three years.

I originally saw this post from Joyfully Abby and did some more research and got a ton of inspiration from Yelena Bosovik and Design Darling and the Day Zero Project. Check out their lists for some further inspiration!  I’m very excited to share my experiences for the next 1001 days!!!

I challenge everyone to make a list and attempt to complete this, use this as a time to complete goals for fun, to make memories, and most importantly, to better yourself! If anyone is inspired to create their own list, please let me know and I will add you below for other people to look at!!

Creating 101 things can be very overwhelming, I suggest writing out all of the categories in your life that you can think of and create about 5-10 items for each categories, it makes creating a list so much easier handle!! If you don’t have a blog, create an account with the Day Zero Project, it is a website that helps you keep track of your 101 in 1001!!

Most goals I complete will have a hyper link leading to a blog post about it! Click on ♥♥♥ to see those blog posts.

FINAL DESTINATION: V

Don’t worry… This isn’t the start of a final destination Movie!!

HAHAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA………. Sorry about the picture Todd!!!

We are getting ready to start our final final summer adventure. I actually just got back from this trip two days ago. So the entire time I’ve started blogging again, I have actually been in California.

Oxnard, California

I have spent the last 10 days in California with my best friend and her family. It was such a fun trip and I had such a blast on it and will forever be so extremely thankful that they decided to take me with them on this annual trip.

Oxnard is about an hour north of LA and is home to the Dallas Cowboys football team for one month in the summer. Right now in Oxnard training camp is going on and that was the main reason we went to Cali.

Background Story:

My best friend is Tia Williams and we have been best friends since we were about two years old. I like to tell people we’ve known each other from the womb though. We’ve always been really close, even though she considers me a trader for transferring to a private high school our freshman year. So, we ended up going to different high schools and we’re going to different colleges but we have and I hope will always remain the closest of friends…. it’s pretty freaking cool.

I call her parents Uncle Troy and Aunt Teresa.. Tia and I played a joke on everyone in middle school and said that we were actually related………..and it kinda just stuck! Hahah! Anyways, Tia’s brother and Uncle work for the Dallas Cowboys, so that is why we go to team camp. It’s a little trip to go see them family and we also got to spend 10 days laying out and soaking up a little bit too much sun.

Back to Cali:

This trip was an absolute blast. The second we landed in Burbank we tracked down the CBS show location to try and see Big Brother… it didn’t happen. We got lost around Griffith park trying to find the Hollywood sign. But don’t worry everything somehow got accomplished on that first day…

The rest of the trip was filled with chasing down football players after practice and nicely ask them for their signatures.

Poorly poorly attempting to surf.

Laying out by the pool and the beach and accidentally getting way way too sunburnt, and burning my arm on a curling iron.

Destpite…

Despite the few mishaps we had on that trip. I truly had a wonderful time and I was so glad I could get away for one last trip before we had to buckle down and start packing for college.

Williams Family,

Wow oh wow… I am so extremely lucky to have you 4 T’s in my life. I will forever be grateful for everything that you have done. This trip was So much fun and one to remember. It was such a blast traveling to cali and back with y’all. I can’t believe you’re about to send tia and i off to college…. this is so weird.

tia…….. your letter is coming soon!!!

DESTINATION FOUR

today:

San Francisco, California

I know I know… I’ve been quite the traveler this summer. But I promise, there’s only one more destination after today’s post.

Last summer we took a family vacation with everybody and stayed for five days at the Fairmont at Ghirardelli Square. It was one of our favorite vacations ever, so ever since the day we got home I’ve constantly been talking about how badly I want to go back… While my siblings were at Camp Ozark for two weeks my parents decided it would be fun to go on one last trip with just them and me! So just Mom, Dad, and I loaded up for a two night trip in San Francisco!

It definitely wasn’t the same traveling without the trips. But this will always be a vacation to remember. Since I’m leaving for college everything is just so weird these days. The reality has yet to set in that I’m getting ready to move out. I’m so lucky and blessed that I have parents that want to and can take me on a two day get away and just have me to themselves for a while!! I will always be thankful for everything that they have done for me and I can’t believe I’m about to be on my own without them right by my side. I got to spend three whole days just traveling around the city with my mom and dad and it was absolutely incredible and full of so many fun memories!!!

This year we went to Fisherman’s Warf, Golden State Park, visited the Painted Ladies, saw the “Full House,” walked through Height-Ashbury, and walked through China town. Believe it or not, we knocked everything out that we really wanted to in three days!! We’re pretty efficient like that.

to mom & dad,

THANK YOU!! tHANK YOU FOR THIS TRIP AND FOR EVERYTHING IN GENERAL. I CAN’T TELL YOU HOW LUCKY I TO HAVE YOU TWO CRAZY PEOPLE IN MY LIFE. I AM SO LUCKY THAT I NOT ONLY HAVE THE Coolest parents in the world, but I also have the coolest best friends in the world. I will never be able to show you and tell you how thankful I am for everything you have done. you have given me opportunities that I never ever thought I would be able to have. it’s all because of you. thank you….. I can’t believe my time in the house is almost up! I can’t wait to get home and hug you guys and have the great five days together before we load up way more crap than I really need and move to texas!!!

Yes… I did say I can’t wait to get home. I’m currently on a plane home from another California trip!!

Anyone reading this, whether you like them, hate them, see them every day, or will never see them again… take a moment to thank your parents for anything!!

Tomorrow we take on my last trip before we start tackling the subject of college.
